Light Therapy Face-lift Light therapy can be used to treat many cosmetic conditions as well as improve skin tissue and muscle tone. Treatments are designed to penetrate deep into the tissues by utilizing different wavelengths of light. The system works by stimulating a natural cellular regeneration and repair process resulting in treatments that are quick, painless with immediate outstanding results. The technology and what it does People need certain wavelengths of light similar to the way plants need sunlight to thrive. Your skin and other body tissues have the ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to stimulate cellular regeneration. When the correct wavelengths of light are closely and intensely flowed into the body some pretty startling things start to occur. The mitochondria of the cells are stimulated into producing high levels of ATP (Adanosine Triphosphate). This ATP is the energy carrier of the cells. It takes proteins and alters them into a state or form that the body needs to assimilate the energy. The increase of ATP causes the cells to produce substances needed by the body in higher quantity and at a faster rate, up to 10 times in some cases but usually 2 to 4 times. A few of the substances produced are collagen and elastin, which are responsible for the strength and elasticity of skin, bones, tendons and flexible organs. Light stimulation accelerates the cell's producing of substances the body uses in its own self rejuvenating system. This allows the body to rejuvenate itself faster and more effectively. The LED Photo Rejuvenation produced by the Light translates the process of plant photosynthesis into the workings of human skin cells, stimulating the body's own cells to build new proteins the same way plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into cellular building blocks. The Light flows through your skin's epidermis to fibroblast cells, which produce such structural proteins as collagen and elastin. When the light hits the cytochromes inside the fibroblasts' mitochondria, it stimulates the cell's energy transport system. The cells produce more structural proteins, which in turn speeds the body's natural rejuvenation system. The Light treatment sends light rays into the cells, which in turn excite the Mitochondria into producing up to 10 times more ATP. This fuels the cell's activities, which causes more of the needed Collagen and Elastin to be produced, as well as other needed materials. ATP - Nature's Energy Store All living things, plants and animals, require a continual supply of energy in order to function. The energy is used for all the processes which keep the organism alive. Some of these processes occur continually, such as the metabolism of foods, the synthesis of large, biologically important molecules, e.g. proteins and DNA, and the transport of molecules and ions throughout the organism. Other processes occur only at certain times, such as muscle contraction and other cellular movements. Animals obtain their energy by oxidation of foods, plants do so by trapping the sunlight using chlorophyll. However, before the energy can be used, it is first transformed into a form which the organism can handle easily. This special carrier of energy is the molecule adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. Structure of Your Skin Your skin is basically made up of THREE layers; the Epidermis, the Dermis and the Hypodermis. The Epidermis is the outer layer made up of non-living cells that form your body's protective cover. These cells are constantly being shed and replaced by new ones. The new cells are made in the lower part of the Epidermis. These are called keratinocytes which produce the tough, fibrous protein called Keratin. The next layer is the Dermis . It is thicker and contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. There are two main proteins in the Dermis or second layer of skin: Collagen , approximately 3/4 of the Dermis is made up of this protein which is responsible for the strength of the skin. Elastin is responsible mainly for the elasticity of the skin. The next layer is the Hypodermis , it is the layer that contains the fatty tissues and stores energy, provides warmth and a cushion. Collagen and Elastin are produced in cells called Fibroblasts. Inside these cells is a smaller cellular structure called Mitochondria. Mitochondria are responsible for converting nutrients into an energy carrier known scientifically as Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This (ATP) fuels the cell's activities; it basically gives the cells the needed energy to do their job. This is the reason Mitochondria are frequently referred to as the powerhouse of the cell. The Fibroblast cells are responsible for producing the protein Collagen and Elastin. Other cells produce various different things needed to assist the rejuvenation of your body. The LED Photo Rejuvenation produced by the Light stimulates the cell activity; this increases Collagen and Elastin production. (The proteins responsible for strength and elasticity of the skin) The Skin Light device flows light through your skin's epidermis to fibroblast cells, which produce such structural proteins as collagen and elastin. When the light hits the cytochromes inside the fibroblasts' mitochondria, it stimulates the cell's energy transport system. The cell produces more structural proteins, which in turn gives it the appearance of improved tone and elasticity. The Anti-aging Light sends light rays into the cells, which in turn excite the Mitochondria into producing in some cases up to 10 times more ATP, but usually 2 to 4 times. This fuels the cell's activities, which causes more of the needed Collagen and Elastin to be produced, as well as other needed materials for the skin. Using our Red, Amber, Infrared and Laser lights helps your skin produce the Collagen and Elastin it needs to continue to appear healthy, smooth and radiant. The more Collagen and Elastin you have in your skin the smoother, healthier and radiant it will look and feel. Treatment includes:
What results can I expect?
What are the benefits of Light treatments?
What are the light sources used and what do they do in the treatment? Four different light sources are used: Red and Amber Lights, Infrared and Laser
How many treatments are needed? Two to three treatments per week are recommend for a total of twelve. A monthly maintenance treatment is recommended. Treatment packages are available.
